Schoolhouse Children's Museum & Learning Center

The Schoolhouse Children's Museum & Learning Center is located in one of Boynton Beach's original schools. It's difficult to image all of the town's youngsters attending the same school in today's South Florida community schools.

But, in 1913, that is how our narrative began.

The Boynton School was built to replace a one-room wooden schoolhouse. For the following fourteen years, the "new" Boynton School, which had two floors, six rooms, and indoor plumbing, remained as Boynton's only school, with enrollment constantly increasing. To deal with the increased attendance, the school principal and three instructors separated the classrooms by grade level. The instructors were allocated to classes one through eight, while the principal was in charge of grades nine through twelve.

Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream park is a "hidden gem" when it comes to fun sober activities in the Boynton Beach area. This park boasts 600 feet of guarded beach front for swimming and recreation. The park also offers places to picnic, barbecue areas, and playgrounds for kids. Locals love this area because it offers free parking and has a lifeguard on duty to ensure the safety of visitors. 

Seacrest Scrub Natural Area

For outdoor enthusiasts, Seacrest Scrub offers a serene locale with trails in a wooded area that are perfect for hiking, bird-watching, and spotting wild animals in their natural habitat. It is a part of the larger Great Florida Bird and Wildlife Trail. It is 54 acres of natural terraine that sits in the middle of urban/suburban Boynton Beach. 

Caloosa Park

Caloosa park offers ponds and lakes for fishing, trails for walking, and courts for pickleball, tennis, and more. The park is conveniently located by I-95 and has free parking available. Many people from the Boynton Beach area gather here to participate in all kinds of fun sober activities.
